Open access policy
ReCoDD is an open-access scientific journal. It promotes the circulation of knowledge produced in and about Africa in the service of sustainable development.
Open access to articles
Articles published by the Community and Sustainable Development Journal are available online to facilitate their reading, citation and dissemination among researchers, teachers, students, decision-makers and development practitioners.
Copyright and licence
ReCoDD articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0), stated since the first issue.
The licence is stated on each article’s page and in its Crossref metadata. Since Issue 5 (October 2026), it also appears on the first page of the PDF. Authors may deposit the published version in an institutional repository or on their personal web page, with a link to the DOI.
Dissemination and discoverability
The journal is working to increase the visibility of its publications through progressive academic indexing, in particular through metadata, DOIs, scientific search engines and suitable dissemination platforms.
ReCoDD publishes several electronic issues per year, as articles are accepted after peer review; each article receives its DOI as soon as it is published online.
Publication fee
The publication fee is set at 100 USD per accepted article and is payable only after acceptance. Submission and peer review are free of charge, and reading articles is always free. The fee contributes to editorial preparation, layout, digital dissemination, technical management of the website and administrative follow-up of publications.
