Publication ethics
ReCoDD is committed to promoting responsible, honest and transparent scientific publishing that respects authors, reviewers, readers and the communities involved in research.
The journal’s commitment
The Community and Sustainable Development Journal is committed to publishing original work that is properly referenced and complies with academic standards. The editorial board handles manuscripts impartially, confidentially and with scientific rigour.
Responsibilities of authors
- Submit original work that has not been published elsewhere.
- Clearly cite all the sources used.
- Declare any conflicts of interest.
- Respect the rights of survey participants, institutions and communities.
- Do not submit the same text to several journals at the same time.
Responsibilities of reviewers
- Review manuscripts rigorously, impartially and confidentially.
- Provide useful, well-argued and respectful comments.
- Report any conflict of interest or any close connection with the subject under review.
- Decline to review if the deadline or their expertise does not allow a sound opinion.
Responsibilities of the editorial office
- Ensure fair treatment of all submissions.
- Preserve the confidentiality of manuscripts.
- Base decisions on scientific and editorial quality.
- Prevent plagiarism, conflicts of interest and abusive publication practices.
Plagiarism, data and corrections
Any uncited borrowing, falsification of data, manipulation of results or improper reproduction of a text is contrary to the journal’s standards. When a substantial error is identified after publication, the editorial office may publish a correction or an editorial note, or withdraw the article, depending on the seriousness of the problem.
Wherever possible, authors should keep the data and documents used in their research so as to allow reasonable scientific verification.
Similarity checking
Before any manuscript is sent for review, the editorial office checks its originality through a similarity search. An abnormal degree of overlap with existing texts, including the author’s own previous work, leads to a request for explanation, a revision or the rejection of the manuscript. The same check may be carried out after publication if a concern is reported.
